Damac awards $54m deal for 29-storey Dubai tower
Dubai's Damac Properties has awarded a $54.4m (AED200m) contract to Commodore Contracting Co for the construction of Merano Tower in Business Bay area.
The contract covers main works for the project, a 29-storey residential tower due for completion in 2019.
Merano Tower is spread across one basement, one ground, three podium, and 26 residential levels.
Apartments vary from studios to three-bedrooms, with the starting price pegged at $159,569 (AED575,000).
Excavation work is underway at the development and have progressed to raft level.
De-watering systems for the project have also been connected, according to a company statement.
A swimming pool, gymnasium, and parking space will be developed as part of the project.
Remarking on the development, Mohammed Tahaineh, senior vice president – commercial at Damac Properties, said: "We are pleased with the contractors we have appointed and which represent a significant portion of the construction of Merano Tower, where we continue to make steady progress.
"We strive to appoint leading contractors and consultants in the industry with a proven track record in terms of quality of work and efficiency on delivery times."
